Job Summary

The Accounting Instructor is responsible for providing instruction to students enrolled in Accounting courses, including dual credit high school students. This individual is also responsible for maintaining office hours, teaching extended day classes, labs, and hybrid/online courses, as required. Additionally, this person helps coordinate and attend advisory committee meetings, attends workshops, seminars, and conferences to upgrade teaching skills, and assists in the development of curriculum, as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Instruction: Provide high-quality instruction to students in Accounting courses, including lectures, discussions, and hands-on activities.
  • Office Hours and Availability: Maintain regular office hours to meet with students, provide guidance, and answer questions.
  • Course Development and Delivery: Assist in the development of curriculum, including course design, materials, and assessments.
  • Advisory Committee and Professional Development: Participate in advisory committee meetings, attend workshops, seminars, and conferences to enhance teaching skills and stay current with industry trends.
  • Student Support and Retention: Provide support and guidance to students, including academic advising, mentoring, and recruitment.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Participate in assessment activities, including course evaluations, student feedback, and program assessment.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Accounting: A Master's degree in Accounting or a related field from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Teaching Experience: Experience teaching in higher education, preferably in Accounting or a related field.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
