About the Opportunity:

We are seeking a well-rounded and seasoned Cook III to join our Pier Sixty-Six Resort opening team. As an integral member of our culinary department, you will create distinctively different and authentic culinary experiences for our guests.

This high-volume position requires a passion for culinary arts and a service-oriented attitude. Reporting to the Sous Chef, you will support and provide excellent service within our kitchen.

  • Develop positive working relationships with others and support your team to reach common goals.
  • Prepare special meals or substitute items as needed.
  • Assist with stocking and setting up each station.
  • Train new staff members in preparation methods.
  • Be a role model for other cooks to follow in living company standards and executing job roles.
  • Work clean and organized, maintaining a clean environment.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and perform tasks professionally.
  • Regulate oven temperatures and ensure proper food storage.
  • Pull frozen food from storage to thaw in the refrigerator.
  • Maintain accurate portion control, arrangement, and garnish.
  • Monitor food logs and maintain quality and quantity standards.
  • Communicate assistance needs during busy periods.
  • Inform Chef of excess food items for daily specials.
  • Inform Food & Beverage staff of menu specials and out-of-stock items.
  • Ensure food quality meets expectations.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of cooking methods and accepted sanitation standards.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Apply basic mathematical skills to understand recipes and measurements.
  • Read, write, speak, and understand English to complete requisitions and communicate with team members.

  • Support management in hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluating employees.
  • Follow safety and security protocols and report incidents.
  • Maintain uniform and personal appearance standards.
  • Anticipate and address guests' service needs.

  • Develop positive working relationships and support team goals.
  • Ensure adherence to quality expectations.
  • Perform physical demands of the job, including standing, sitting, and reaching.
