The opportunity to join the opening team of Sotogrande, the Mediterranean dining destination at Pier Sixty-Six, is now available. This restaurant showcases cuisine inspired by the spice trade routes of the Mediterranean Sea. As a valued member of our team, you will be part of a dynamic group committed to delivering distinctively different and elevated culinary experiences to our guests.
Reporting directly to the Chef de Cuisine, your role will be to provide outstanding service within this Signature restaurant. This position is ideal for someone with a deep passion for refined culinary techniques and a commitment to service excellence.
Responsibilities
- Develop positive working relationships with others to achieve common goals.
- Prepare refined dishes infusing traditional flavors and ingredients with modern techniques.
- Regulate the temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters.
- Thaw food properly by pulling it from freezer storage to refrigerate.
- Evaluate portioning, arrangement, and garnish of dishes.
- Maintain detailed food logs, monitoring the quality and quantity of food prepared.
- Communicate effectively during busy periods to facilitate assistance as needed.
Additional Duties & Responsibilities
- Adhere to departmental policies and procedures.
- Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures; report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the manager; complete safety training and certifications.
- Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets.
- Support team to reach common goals; listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees.
- Evaluate adherence to quality expectations and standards related to Mediterranean cuisine.
- Perform physical activities such as standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods; performing tasks involving reaching, bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance.
