The Front Office Assistant plays a vital role in the daily operations of our ambulatory/physician office, providing exceptional support to patients and staff alike. This dynamic individual will be responsible for managing patient registration, scheduling appointments, and handling patient referrals, all while maintaining the highest level of professionalism and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities
  • Scheduling and Coordination: Schedules patient appointments according to practice-specific protocols and patient preferences, ensuring seamless communication and efficient use of resources.
  • Patient Registration and Demographics: Obtains accurate and complete patient demographic and insurance information, ensuring compliance with Orlando Health policies and procedures.
  • Medical Records Management: Processes all requests for medical records according to Orlando Health and department-specific policies and procedures, maintaining confidentiality and discretion at all times.
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance: Adheres to and assures compliance with Orlando Health and OHPE (OHPG, OPN) policy, procedures, and value statements, actively participating in Quality Assurance/Quality Indicator activities as assigned.
  • Communication and Customer Service: Interacts with patients and families in a professional manner, demonstrating a commitment to excellence and actively engaging to improve overall patient satisfaction experience.
  • Administrative Support: Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, while also practicing the efficient use of supplies and assisting the billing service as requested.
Requirements
  • Education and Training: High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Licensure and Certification: None required.
  • Experience: Six (6) months experience in a clerical office, general business, and/or customer service setting.
