Job Summary:

The Customer Service Representative (CSR) plays a vital role in delivering sales and service assistance to the branch by attracting new clients and presenting appropriate banking products and services that enhance customer satisfaction. This position requires ethical conduct and effective communication with both current and prospective clients regarding the features and benefits of various offerings from Apple Bank. The CSR is responsible for opening new accounts, processing transactions as needed, resolving customer inquiries, and fostering trust-based relationships. Recommendations for solutions will be made based on customer requirements, and referrals to licensed representatives will be made when necessary. This role is focused on building long-lasting relationships through exceptional customer experiences and identifying customer needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Address customer service inquiries by efficiently resolving issues and ensuring a positive experience during all interactions.
  2. Establish and nurture relationships with both potential and existing customers to meet team sales objectives.
  3. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of Apple Bank's products and services to effectively address client needs.
  4. Engage with customers to understand their requirements and provide relevant solutions.
  5. Identify sales opportunities and propose suitable banking products and services that deliver value to customers.
  6. Refer customers to licensed representatives when appropriate.
  7. Accurately process monetary transactions and maintain customer files.
  8. Communicate relevant rules and regulations to customers, including FDIC protection information when opening new accounts.
  9. Adhere to regulatory, security, and audit policies; comply with the Bank's Code of Conduct to ensure client and asset safety.
  10. Protect the Bank against losses by following new account procedures, including CIP and BSA requirements.
  11. Ensure accurate record-keeping and follow up on incomplete or outstanding customer files.

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in preparing and completing reports.
  2. Occasionally perform non-CSR duties, such as operating a teller window.
  3. Support the training of newly hired CSRs and Universal Bankers.
  4. Participate in special projects and assignments as needed.
  5. Assist with the opening and closing of vaults, safes, and ATMs.
  6. Enhance professional knowledge by attending workshops and training programs.
  7. Ensure the customer area is orderly and well-supplied.
  8. Demonstrate willingness to be cross-trained in other branch functions.
  9. Be available to work weekends and extended hours as required.

Qualifications:

  1. High School Diploma or GED is required.
  2. 1-2 years of experience in developing customer relationships and achieving sales goals in banking, finance, or retail customer service is preferred.
  3. Prior experience in building strong customer relationships is essential.
  4. General understanding of banking operations, including risk and compliance.
  5. Cash handling experience is preferred.
  6. Ability to present a confident and professional demeanor with customers.
  7. Excellent listening, communication (both verbal and written), and interpersonal skills are necessary.
  8. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are required.
  9. Proficiency in computer skills and adaptability to new technologies is essential.
  10. Availability to work on Saturdays and late on Thursdays is required.
