Job Title: Polish Operator Trainee - Aerospace Finishing

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Polish Operator Trainee to join our team at Hytek Finishes Co. as a Polish Operator Trainee - Aerospace Finishing. As a Polish Operator Trainee, you will learn a range of techniques and tools for polishing parts, including the use of wheel lathes, Dynafiles, and various hand tools to achieve customer-driven visual requirements.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Learn to prepare and process parts using a variety of polishing techniques.
  • Work closely with Experienced Polish Operators and Department Leads to complete work and prioritize tasks.
  • Learn to follow shop traveler, technique card, customer Purchase Orders, and instructions from experienced Operators and Department Leads.
  • Learn to review and identify internal paperwork to ensure all previous operations were completed, notifying Production Supervisor and Quality Assurance team of any processing errors.
  • Learns to Prepare Parts prior to operations including mechanical or chemical cleaning.
  • Learns to Prepare parts as called out in Purchase Orders and Tech Cards.
  • Learns to Perform inspection, measuring, and testing or part surfaces as required.
  • Learns to Maintain paint guns and paint booths ensuring cleanliness at the close of shifts.
  • Learns to Perform pre and post cleaning surface finish requirements.
  • Follow Quality Assurance requirements.
  • Follow safety precautions as trained.
  • Other duties as assigned.

**Requirements:**

  • Ability to wear an N95 respirator as needed.
  • Must have a regular and dependable attendance record.
  • Ability to Read/Write Communicate in English with other employees, Customers, and auditors.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. An export license will be required to work in all areas of the facility.

**Education/Previous Experience Requirements:**

  • 1-2 years in a manufacturing or production environment a plus; working with wheel lathes and/or dynafiles is also helpful.

**Essential Mental/Physical Demands:**

DOL Categories: Very Heavy for Operators, physical ability to consistently bend, lift, twist, turn, movement of forearms, shoulders, knees for a duration of time.

  • Ability to lift occasionally: (floor to knee) 114 lbs., (waist to waist) 63 lbs., (floor, knee, to waist) 75 lbs., (waist to shoulder) 30 lbs.
  • Ability to carry 63 lbs. occasionally
  • Ability to push/pull 59 lbs. occasionally
  • Ability to stand and walk frequently
  • Ability to sit occasionally
  • Ability to reach from the should and overhead occasionally and from the waist frequently
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, crawl occasionally
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders occasionally
  • Ability to push/pull frequently
  • Ability to pivot, twist, pinch occasionally
  • Ability to grasp frequently
  • Ability to see/hear/feel constantly - hearing protection required when working in the area

**Work Environment:**

Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and fumes from metal finishing chemicals. Temperatures in the work environment can fluctuate with outside weather conditions. Due to the manufacturing environment, Personal Protection Equipment is required including safety glasses, goggles, gloves, and N95 mask as needed (provided by Company).

**Salary Range:** $15.74 to $45.00 per hour
