Job Summary
Varstaff is seeking a highly skilled Aerospace Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our quality control department, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality in our aerospace components.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of finished products to identify quality problems and recommend solutions.
- Calibrate, validate, or maintain equipment to ensure accuracy and precision.
- Develop and revise standard quality control operating procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Evaluate analytical methods and procedures to determine areas for improvement.
- Perform visual inspections of finished products and receive and inspect raw materials to ensure quality and consistency.
- Interpret test results and compare them to established specifications and control limits to make recommendations on data appropriateness for release.
- Monitor testing procedures to ensure compliance with established item specifications, standard test methods, or protocols.
- Supply quality control data necessary for regulatory submissions and complete documentation to support testing procedures.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5+ years of experience in dimensional inspection of aerospace components.
- Superior blue print reading skills, including GD&T per ASME Y14.5M-2018 standard.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Fluent in the use of precision hand tools, gages, optical comparator, and surface plate work.
- Experience inspecting tight tolerance, high value components.
- Familiar with the use of personal computers and ability to learn new software applications.
- Self-motivation and ability to prioritize projects to meet completion dates.
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
Desired Qualifications
- Passion for quality and commitment to excellence.
- 5 years of minimum experience inspecting aerospace components with precision hand tools, Articulating Romer ARM, and/or CMMs.
- Troubleshooting, root cause, and corrective action analysis experience.
- Understanding of department KPIs and metrics to improve performance.
- Excellent blueprint reading skills and ability to interpret technical drawings.
- Strong communication skills with a heavy customer focus.
- Must have a continuous improvement attitude and be willing to learn and adapt to new processes.
- Clear understanding of production versus development environments.
- Familiar with use of personal computers and ability to learn new software applications.
- Self-motivation and ability to prioritize projects to meet completion dates.
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
