Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to serve as a Mock Trial Assistant Advisor for Minnetonka Public Schools. The successful candidate will assist the head advisor in leading the mock trial program, providing guidance and support to students, and ensuring the success of the team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development and Implementation
    • Assist in the development and implementation of the mock trial program, including the creation of competition rosters and team formation.
    • Provide feedback and guidance to students on presentation skills, legal reasoning, and case theory development.
  • Event Management
    • Manage and supervise student behavior during activity events.
    • Assume primary responsibility for scheduling and preparation of event facilities.
  • Team Support
    • Attend regular club meetings and competitions.
    • Provide a positive learning environment for student participants.
  • Administrative Tasks
    • Enforce all rules and policies related to the mock trial program.
    • Assist with the hiring and development of assistant advisors, when applicable.
Requirements
  • Knowledge and Skills
    • Knowledge and background in mock trial or a related field.
    • Understanding of and agreement with the Minnetonka Public School District's policies and procedures.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
    • Experience in mock trial or a related field, preferably in an educational setting.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent deadlines and multiple tasks to manage. The position requires strong organizational and time management skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with students, staff, and community members.

Compensation

Compensation will be in accordance with the Minnetonka Public School District's salary schedule.
