Position Overview:
The role of the Student Leadership Assistant Advisor involves guiding and supporting student participants in various extracurricular activities. This position is integral to fostering a positive and enriching environment for students engaged in leadership roles.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide mentorship to individual student participants, equipping them with essential skills for effective performance.
  2. Oversee and manage student conduct during activity events to ensure a respectful and productive atmosphere.
  3. Handle all aspects related to the organization and administration of the advising or coaching of enrichment teams.
  4. Create a supportive learning environment that encourages student participation and growth.
  5. Plan and coordinate seasonal activities in alignment with district policies.
  6. Take charge of scheduling and preparing the venue for events, collaborating with the Student Activities Office.
  7. Perform additional duties as required, contributing to the overall success of the program.

Specific Duties:
  1. Uphold all regulations set forth by the Minnesota State High School League and the policies of the educational district.
  2. Assist in the recruitment, development, and evaluation of assistant advisors, as necessary.
  3. Implement safety measures to protect students, equipment, and facilities, including emergency preparedness plans.
  4. Recommend the acquisition of necessary equipment, supplies, and uniforms to the Director of Activities.
  5. Enforce standards of discipline and sportsmanship, establishing consequences for violations by students.
  6. Attend and lead all relevant activities associated with the advising role.

Qualifications:
  1. Possess knowledge and experience in the assigned extracurricular activity.
  2. Demonstrate understanding and commitment to the Student Activity and Athletic Code of the educational district.
  3. Familiarity with State, Federal, and district policies regarding student behavior and disciplinary actions.
  4. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
  5. Exhibit strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with students, parents, and colleagues.
  6. Capability to follow directions and collaborate with team members.
  7. Demonstrate a strong work ethic and commitment to enhancing student involvement in co-curricular activities.
  8. Physical capability to fulfill essential job functions.

Compensation:
Compensation will be determined in accordance with the established collective bargaining agreement.
