Assignment Overview:
This role involves meeting 1-2 times weekly throughout the academic year to support student leadership initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Guide individual student participants in developing the skills essential for effective performance.
  2. Oversee and manage student conduct during activity events.
  3. Handle all aspects related to the organization and administration of advising or coaching an enrichment team.
  4. Create a supportive learning atmosphere for student participants.
  5. Plan and coordinate seasonal activities in line with district policies.
  6. Take charge of scheduling and preparing the venue for events, collaborating with the Student Activities Office.
  7. Perform additional duties of a similar nature or level as required.
Specific Duties:
  1. Uphold all regulations of the Minnesota State High School League and district policies relevant to the enrichment activity.
  2. Assist the Director of Activities in the recruitment, development, and assessment of assistant advisors when necessary.
  3. Implement necessary precautions to safeguard students, equipment, materials, and facilities, including an emergency action plan.
  4. Advise on the procurement of equipment, supplies, and uniforms as needed.
  5. Maintain discipline and promote sportsmanship at all times, establishing and enforcing activity penalties for any breaches of conduct.
  6. Attend, supervise, and lead all activities associated with the advising role.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
  1. Possess knowledge and experience in the assigned activity.
  2. Understand and agree with the district's Student Activity and Athletic Code and the Coaches/Advisors Handbook.
  3. Familiarity with State, Federal, and district policies regarding student behavior and appropriate disciplinary measures.
  4. Demonstrate the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  5. Exhibit strong communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with colleagues, supervisors, parents, community members, and students.
  6. Ability to follow work direction.
  7. Show a strong work ethic and commitment to enhancing student participation in co-curricular activities.
  8. Physical capability to perform essential job functions.
Compensation:
Compensation will align with Schedule C of the Teacher Collective Bargaining Agreement.
