Position Overview: This role is crucial in providing support to customers and ensuring the precise and prompt handling of sales quotes and orders, along with all related sales activities. A key aspect of this position is to guarantee that every customer receives outstanding service. The individual will also play a vital role in nurturing and managing the customer base at the sales counter.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather and process information on incoming requests for quotes and sales orders efficiently;
  • Offer administrative assistance to the Sales team;
  • Handle incoming phone inquiries;
  • Maintain organized customer files;
  • Ensure exceptional service for all customers.

Additional Duties Include:

  • Collaborating with the warehouse to fulfill customer requests and sales;
  • Preparing quotes using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook);
  • Data entry and file management;
  • Providing comprehensive general office support;
  • Managing the sending and receiving of company forms;
  • Overseeing all daily operational tasks;
  • Completing customer documentation in a thorough, timely, and organized manner.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required;
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in administrative sales within a manufacturing environment preferred;
  • Familiarity with structural metals, including carbon, stainless, and aluminum is advantageous;
  • Strong and accurate data entry skills are essential;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint;
  • Ability to maintain contact with customers and deliver exceptional service;
  • Capable of addressing and resolving customer concerns;
  • Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset;
  • Adaptable to changing priorities and conditions;
  • Strong commitment to follow-through on verbal and written commitments;
  • Proven ability to multitask effectively;
  • Demonstrated history of providing high-quality customer service;
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure;
  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • Able to engage with a diverse range of colleagues;
  • Understanding of Point-of-Sale software, with QuickBooks knowledge being a plus;
  • Strong grasp of steel products, unit conversion factors, and product applications;
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills, both internally and externally.
