Position Summary:
We are seeking an Ophthalmic Care Technician to join our dynamic team in a high-volume ophthalmic practice. This role is essential in delivering quality and compassionate care to patients requiring complete eye care services.

Key Responsibilities:
This position demands strong customer service abilities, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the capacity for independent decision-making.

Essential Ophthalmic Skills Include:
- Collecting and documenting patient medical history
- Assessing visual acuity
- Conducting automated refraction
- Administering prescribed eye drops, ointments, and irrigating solutions
- Performing clinical tasks and office duties, including data entry into EMR systems
- Measuring intraocular pressure (tonometry)
- Preparing patients for surgical procedures
- Maintaining and managing ophthalmic equipment and instruments

Qualifications:
  • 2 to 3 years of experience as an ophthalmic or optometric technician is preferred
  • Certification as a COA is preferred
  • Reliable transportation is necessary for travel to various locations
  • Flexibility to travel as needed
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
  • Willingness to seek guidance in unfamiliar areas
  • Capability to identify inconsistencies in patient information
  • Education: High school diploma from an accredited institution
