This role involves performing a variety of delegated tasks under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, with a focus on maintaining a clean, well-organized, and safe patient environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist nursing staff in providing patient care, including vital sign recordings, patient hygiene, and communication with patients and families.
- Perform delegated tasks, such as Foley catheter insertion and removal, venipuncture, and laboratory specimen collection, under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
- Operate patient monitoring equipment, record data, and run rhythm strips under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
- Assist with ordering and maintaining stock items, and perform clerical duties, such as charting in electronic health records.
- Perform special procedures, such as non-sterile dressing changes, peak expiration flow rate, pulse oximetry, and vital sign recordings.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care delivery.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in hospital patient care or an acute-care setting preferred.
- BLS certification required.
- Current certification in ONE of the following: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Patient Care Tech (PCT), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic.
