Key Responsibilities- Assist pharmacists with medication histories and verify patient medication records accurately.
- Train and mentor junior pharmacy technicians to ensure they meet the required competencies.
- Prepare and compound pharmaceuticals, including non-sterile and sterile products, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition products, with precision and attention to detail.
- Issue controlled substances to patient care areas and maintain accurate records.
- Provide efficient and timely services, ensuring that daily activities are complete and recorded.
- Maintain current technician license and ensure CE records and licensure are up-to-date.
- Participate in quality improvement and medication use review activities, collecting data and conducting monitors and inspections.
- Conduct designated interventions, such as IV to PO conversions and pharmacokinetic dosing support.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 3-5 years of pharmacy technician experience preferred.
- Registered Pharmacy Technician in the state of practice required.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician preferred.
- ACPE accredited IV certification program, including hazardous (minimum 40 hours); or meet minimum State requirement.
As a Pharmacy Technician II at Christus Health, you will work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with clinical pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care. You will have the opportunity to work in various settings, including inpatient and outpatient areas, and participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
