Matura Farrington, a leading law firm, is on the lookout for a contract Human Resources Manager/Director to enhance their team for a temporary assignment. This role serves as a strategic ally and trusted consultant to the firm's leadership, playing a crucial part in steering the HR function, ensuring efficient management of HR operations, and nurturing a workplace culture that resonates with the firm's core values and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic HR Leadership:

  • Formulate and execute HR strategies and initiatives that align with the firm's overarching business objectives.
  • Collaborate with senior management to grasp the firm's requirements and offer HR insights on significant decisions.
  • Guide change management initiatives to facilitate seamless transitions during growth or restructuring phases.

Talent Acquisition & Management:

  • Supervise the recruitment and selection process, ensuring the attraction of top-tier legal and administrative talent.
  • Design and implement comprehensive onboarding programs to assimilate new hires into the firm's culture.
  • Manage employee relations, providing guidance and resolution on intricate issues.

Performance Management:

  • Establish and oversee a robust performance management system, encompassing annual reviews, goal setting, and ongoing feedback.
  • Collaborate with department heads to identify and address performance gaps, developing tailored development plans.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Oversee the administration of compensation and benefits programs, ensuring market competitiveness and alignment with the firm's goals.
  • Conduct periodic salary reviews and recommend adjustments as necessary.

Learning & Development:

  • Develop and implement training programs to facilitate the professional growth of attorneys and staff.
  • Lead leadership development initiatives to cultivate a strong pipeline of future leaders within the firm.

Compliance & Risk Management:

  • Ensure adherence to all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Oversee the firm's HR policies and procedures, updating them as necessary to reflect legislative changes and best practices.
  • Manage employee relations, investigations, and disciplinary actions with fairness and consistency.

Culture & Engagement:

  • Promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture that champions diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Lead initiatives to boost employee engagement and satisfaction, including wellness programs, team-building activities, and recognition efforts.
  • Act as a champion for the firm's core values, integrating them into all HR practices and policies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master's degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) is preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in HR management, ideally within a law firm or professional services setting.
  • Extensive knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and talent management strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence at all organizational levels.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.

Compensation:

$80 - $100/hr. based on experience.
