Position Summary:


The Finance Operations Manager oversees the financial activities of the organization by executing the following responsibilities directly or through subordinate personnel.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Conducting monthly reconciliations and accounting operations such as:

Monthly Reconciliation Oversight:
Reviewing bank statements, accounts payable, fixed asset depreciation, and monthly credit card reports (limits, usage, etc.)
Managing components of the annual external audit process
Updating balance sheet logs and scrutinizing balance sheet transactions
Assisting in the preparation of reports for board meetings and management reviews
Ensuring timely issuance of monthly financial reports to department heads
Providing the Finance Director and Comptroller with timely updates on the organization’s payables status and progress on various initiatives (including capital projects, etc.)
Responsible for closing fiscal periods within the accounting system
Reviewing monthly general ledger entries for discrepancies
Supporting the monthly and annual closing processes to meet deadlines
Identifying errors and proposing enhancements for efficiency and cost management
Evaluating and recommending improvements to accounting systems and procedures
Supervising staff accountants and accounting clerks
Engaging in financial standards development and forecasting processes
Planning, assigning, and reviewing staff work related to general ledger and reporting
Creating and documenting business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls
Ensuring adherence to GAAP principles.

Professional Qualifications:

Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and organizational abilities
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work independently and focus on details with minimal team support.
Fluency in English and Spanish is preferred.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in accounting is required.
A Master’s degree in accounting or CPA designation is preferred.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in the accounting field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Familiarity with financial management systems, such as Business Central and online banking platforms.
