Position Overview
Our organization is in search of a dedicated Senior Accountant with extensive expertise in delivering precise and timely financial results. This role will report directly to the Senior Manager of Accounting and will oversee the financial closing and reporting processes for the LATAM region, which includes Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, and Colombia.

Key Responsibilities
This position entails significant collaboration with senior accounting leadership and global finance teams. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of U.S. GAAP as well as the accounting and reporting regulations applicable in LATAM countries. A diligent, self-motivated individual with meticulous attention to detail is essential.

  • Policies and Procedures:
    Ensure all processes align with Corporate Finance and Global Shared Services to support the LATAM accounting team.
  • Maintain compliance with U.S. GAAP and local LATAM accounting standards, including adherence to Sarbanes-Oxley regulations.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of corporate accounting policies and procedures.
  • Provide insights to enhance accounting processes and outputs continuously.

Operational Duties:
Prepare period-end closing documentation for assigned LATAM entities, which includes:

  • Lead schedules for major accounts
  • Bank account reconciliations
  • Other significant account reconciliations
  • Management of Fixed Assets ledger
  • Calculation of amortization entries
  • Intercompany reconciliations
  • Journal entries posting in SAP
  • Revenue recognition follow-up
  • Preparation and posting of month-end and period-end journal entries, including relevant accruals, reserves, and provisions
  • Accounting for Fixed Asset transactions and adjustments
  • Coordination with country Controllers in LATAM to gather financial data for journal entries and general ledger maintenance
  • Preparation of reconciliations between U.S. GAAP and local GAAP, along with statutory financial statements
  • Identification and escalation of complex accounting and finance issues
  • Assistance in resolving accounting and internal control matters related to GL operations
  • Implementation of process improvements and best practices for general ledger reporting
  • Close collaboration with Global Shared Services and Corporate Teams

Controls and Monitoring:
Engage in proactive monitoring and analysis of account variances, compiling and reporting on key performance metrics for the accounting process at regional, country, and SSC levels. Conduct monthly fluctuation analyses promptly and work closely with various groups, including external auditors, internal auditors, SOX, FP&A, Payroll, and tax departments.

Systems Participation:
Participate in the deployment of corporate IT systems (SAP and BlackLine) across the region, performing reporting, analytics, and system analysis.

Qualifications:
3 to 5+ years of experience in public or corporate accounting is required. Experience with regional accounting and/or shared services supporting Latin American countries (Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, and Mexico) is essential. Full cycle financial close experience is mandatory. Familiarity with SAP and BlackLine is advantageous. A strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and local Latin American accounting standards is necessary. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required, with Portuguese being a plus. Advanced skills in Microsoft Office products are essential. A CPA certification is preferred.

Ideal Candidate:
The successful candidate will have approximately 3-5 years of professional experience, with at least 2 years focused on supporting LATAM countries from an accounting perspective. We seek an individual eager to learn rapidly and grow within the organization. As a member of the Shared Service Center, exceptional customer service skills are crucial, as this role supports business operations across the region.
