Position Overview:

The Revenue Accounting Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring precise accounting practices for the billing-to-cash processes across various revenue channels. This includes Direct Ad Sales, Ad Sales representations, Affiliate sales for PayTV & Premium Channels, and Direct to Consumer revenues, adhering to US GAAP standards.

This role collaborates closely with the Revenue, FP&A, and Accounting teams, and engages with the Billing & Collections unit.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Execute, post, and review a variety of journal entries across all revenue streams, including impaired revenue, sales commissions, and withholding taxes.

2. Take full ownership of the Ad Sales Representations process, managing commissions and conducting monthly reconciliations with partners.

3. Contribute significantly to all revenue-related balances, including statutory accounts and corporate reporting.

4. Prepare and analyze revenue account reconciliations.

5. Develop and present variance analysis for P&L and Balance Sheet reviews, highlighting key drivers and business context.

6. Analyze and reconcile agency incentives to ensure timely settlements and accurate reporting.

7. Prepare monthly withholding tax documentation and address any discrepancies.

8. Review Ad Sales pacing data, record journal entries, and ensure reconciliation accuracy.

9. Present monthly closing analyses, highlighting risks and opportunities to senior management.

10. Reconcile inter-company accounts and settlements with regional Ad Sales.

11. Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal policies, and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls.

12. Conduct subscriber and revenue trend analyses for month-end reporting.

13. Manage the Brazilian Ancine fund, ensuring timely allocation to local productions.

14. Review and approve affiliate billing proposals.

15. Monitor and report on marketing funds related to revenue targets.

16. Foster relationships with key stakeholders, including Billing & Collections, sales, legal teams, and controllership.

17. Assist the revenue and accounting teams with ad-hoc requests and projects.

18. Support the Senior Accounting Manager in finance projects aimed at enhancing controllership and process improvements.


Qualifications:


Essential Requirements:
- CPA or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP applications (SAP ECC).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on actionable recommendations.

Language Proficiency:
- Fluent in English and Spanish; Portuguese is advantageous.

Preferred Attributes:
- Experience in a Media Entertainment environment or with multiple markets.
- Proven ability to manage multiple assignments under tight deadlines.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Adaptability to a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Knowledge of US GAAP and familiarity with Latin American financial regulations is a plus.

Additional Information:

This position is designated as hybrid, requiring in-office contributions a minimum of three days per week. Candidates must possess unrestricted work authorization in the United States and be at least 18 years old.
