We are currently seeking a Senior Financial Accountant in Miami, FL.Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review client invoicing along with necessary supporting documentation.
- Assess contractors' invoices for accuracy and completeness before submitting for payment approval.
- Ensure timely and precise issuance of client invoices.
- Conduct daily reviews of accounts receivable aging schedules, outstanding balances, and unapplied cash receipts.
- Generate monthly reports reconciling accounts payable invoices with client billing support documentation.
- Prepare revenue accruals for the Business Unit Accounting Manager's review.
- Maintain revenue-related workpapers for managerial review and approval.
- Track and manage all costs associated with construction projects.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in invoices and billing with contractors.
- Audit assigned trial balance accounts while maintaining reconciliation documentation.
- Organize files related to contracts, warranties, and insurance policies.
- Prepare reports as directed by the Accounting Manager.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting is required.
- 2-3 years of accounting experience, particularly in accrual and cost accounting, is preferred.
- Experience in the construction industry is a plus.
- Strong understanding of construction accounting, cost controls, and job costing is preferred.
- Ability to comprehend complex billing and job costing concepts is essential.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, especially Microsoft Excel and Adobe Acrobat.
- Familiarity with automated accounting systems such as J.D. Edwards is advantageous.
- Experience with government contracts in the construction industry is preferred.
- Willingness to work on-site Monday through Friday and travel locally between office locations as required.
