Key Responsibilities of the Cost Accounting Manager:

  • Supervise and mentor at least one senior accounting analyst.
  • Act as the subject matter expert in cost and inventory accounting.
  • Oversee cost accounting functions, including product and process cost models for GAAP compliance in select markets.
  • Conduct and review inventory assessments, valuations, and impairment analyses quarterly.
  • Prepare and review schedules for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of market-specific financial statements focusing on cost and inventory.
  • Perform cost analysis.
  • Deliver periodic operational cost analyses for various markets.
  • Support operational cost model and SKU-level analysis initiatives to enhance profitability reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance profitability and business outcomes through cost models, analysis, and collaboration with operations.
  • Collaborate directly with operational and site teams on special projects related to cost and inventory.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience managing at least one direct report.
  • Over 6 years of cost accounting experience, preferably in the manufacturing sector.
  • Strong critical thinking abilities.
  • Proficient in Excel.
  • Willingness to work overtime during peak periods.
  • Experience in process improvement and implementation.
  • Familiarity with Power Query, Sage Intacct, Tableau, or BPC is advantageous.
