Position Overview
Our organization is in search of a dedicated Senior Accountant with extensive expertise in delivering precise and timely financial results.

This role will report directly to the Senior Manager of Accounting and will be tasked with overseeing the monthly accounting close and financial reporting for the LATAM region, which includes Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, and Colombia.

This position necessitates substantial interaction with senior accounting leadership and global accounting teams.
It is essential for the candidate to possess a robust understanding of U.S. GAAP as well as the accounting and reporting regulations pertinent to LATAM countries, alongside the capability to investigate and resolve accounting matters. The ideal candidate should be meticulous, self-driven, and detail-oriented.
Key Responsibilities

Policies and Procedures
  • Ensure alignment of all processes with Corporate Finance and Global Shared Services to support the LATAM regional accounting team.
  • Guarantee adherence to US GAAP and local LATAM accounting standards and policies, including compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of corporate accounting policies and procedures.
  • Provide insights for the continuous enhancement of accounting processes and related outputs.
Operations
Prepare period-end close documentation for assigned LATAM entities, which includes:
  • Lead schedules for significant accounts,
  • Bank account reconciliations,
  • Other major account reconciliations,
  • Maintain Fixed Assets ledger,
  • Calculate amortization entries,
  • Intercompany reconciliations,
  • Post journal entries in SAP,
  • Monitor revenue recognition,
  • Prepare and post month-end and period-end journal entries, including relevant accruals, reserves, and provisions.
  • Account for Fixed Asset transactions and adjustments.
  • Maintain communication and coordination with country Controllers in Latin America to gather financial data for journal entries and general ledger maintenance.
  • Prepare reconciliations of US to Local GAAP and statutory financial statements.
  • Identify, escalate, and assist in researching complex accounting and finance issues.
  • Support the resolution of any accounting and internal control issues related to GL accounting operations.
  • Implement process improvements and best practices for general ledger reporting.
  • Foster close collaboration with Global Shared Services and Corporate Teams.
Controls and Monitoring
  • Proactively monitor and analyze account variances.
  • Compile and report on key performance metrics for the Accounting process at regional, country, and SSC levels.
  • Conduct monthly fluctuation analysis in a timely manner.
  • This role will collaborate closely with various groups such as external auditors, internal auditors, SOX, FP&A, Payroll, and tax departments.
Systems
  • Participate in the deployment of corporate IT systems (SAP and BlackLine) across the region.
  • Engage in reporting, analytics, and system analysis.
Qualifications
3 – 5+ years of experience in public or corporate accounting.
Experience with regional accounting and/or shared services supporting Latin America countries (Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, and Mexico) is required.
Full Cycle Financial Close Experience is essential.
Familiarity with SAP and BlackLine is a plus.
Strong understanding of US GAAP and local Latin America accounting standards.
Bilingual in English and Spanish is required; Portuguese is a plus.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Products is necessary.
Skills and Certifications
CPA
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate should possess approximately 3-5 years of professional experience, with at least 2 years dedicated to supporting LATAM countries (Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, and Mexico) from an accounting perspective. The candidate should be eager to learn quickly and aspire to grow within the organization.

As a member of the Shared Service Center, the candidate must demonstrate excellent customer service skills with internal clients and recognize the importance of supporting business operations in the region.
