Position Overview

The Social Events Manager is tasked with effectively soliciting and securing weddings, social events, and related room blocks.

This role collaborates closely with the Director of Marketing and Director of Catering to meet the hotel's revenue and market share objectives. The Social Events Manager is responsible for selling guest rooms and event spaces to maximize revenue potential for the hotel while ensuring that clients have the best possible experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Achieve assigned sales and catering revenue targets, along with prospecting call objectives.
  • Proactively engage in prospecting calls, conduct sales and catering tours, and entertain clients as necessary.
  • Enhance existing relationships with assigned accounts and market segments.
  • Create Resumes for all booked events and blocks to communicate all details of stays/programs to the hotel team.
  • Oversee all booked catering events from inception to completion, including being present on-site to execute events with the Banquet Team.
  • Monitor and assess trends within your market segment.
  • Collaborate closely with the Director of PR to develop content for social media.
  • Promptly follow up on leads, manage group blocks, and coordinate social catering events.
  • Participate in the development of promotions tailored to the needs of the assigned market segment.
  • Continuously refine product/concept offerings and maintain familiarity with competitive offerings.
  • Approach all interactions with guests and colleagues in a friendly, attentive, and service-oriented manner.
  • Maintain accurate files, current trace dates, and relevant booking activities.
  • Adhere to Four Seasons' established regulations, company standards, and related sales metrics.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of hotel operations and policies across applicable departments.
  • Gain a thorough understanding of the Food & Beverage department and back-of-house operations.
  • Maintain strong visibility within the local community and industry organizations as appropriate.
  • Attend daily, weekly, and monthly meetings and any other functions as required by management.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 1 year of luxury hotel experience in a guest-facing role.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills necessary for negotiation, persuasion, and influencing managerial personnel, hotel guests, and corporate clients.
  • Experience with professional selling techniques is preferred: opening, probing, supporting, and closing.
  • Proficiency in general computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks, with strong organizational and presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with Opera and Golden Sales and Catering software is a plus.
