Position Overview

The Social Sales Manager plays a crucial role in effectively soliciting and securing weddings, social events, and room blocks.

This position collaborates closely with the Director of Marketing and Director of Catering to meet the hotel's revenue and market share objectives. The Social Sales Manager is responsible for selling guest rooms and event spaces to maximize revenue potential while ensuring an exceptional experience for clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Achieve assigned sales and catering revenue targets, along with prospecting call objectives.
  • Proactively engage in prospecting calls, conduct sales and catering tours, and entertain clients as necessary.
  • Enhance existing relationships with assigned accounts and market segments.
  • Create detailed resumes for all booked events and room blocks to communicate essential information to the hotel team.
  • Oversee all booked catering events from inception to completion, including on-site execution with the Banquet Team.
  • Monitor and analyze trends within the market segment.
  • Collaborate with the Director of PR to develop engaging content for social media platforms.
  • Promptly follow up on leads and manage group blocks and social catering events.
  • Contribute to the development of promotions tailored to the needs of the assigned market segment.
  • Continuously refine product offerings and maintain familiarity with competitive offerings.
  • Approach all interactions with guests and colleagues in a friendly, attentive, and service-oriented manner.
  • Maintain organized files, accurate histories, and all relevant booking activities.
  • Adhere to established regulations, company standards, and sales metrics.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of hotel operations and departmental policies.
  • Gain insights into the Food & Beverage department and back-of-house operations.
  • Maintain a strong presence in the local community and industry organizations.
  • Participate in daily, weekly, and monthly meetings as required by management.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 1 year of luxury hotel experience in a guest-facing role.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for negotiation, persuasion, and influence.
  • Experience in professional selling techniques, including opening, probing, supporting, and closing.
  • Proficiency in general computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks with strong organizational and presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with Opera and Golden Sales and Catering systems is a plus.
