Position Overview: We are in search of a skilled engineer or scientist who possesses the expertise to design and establish intricate hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL or HIL) systems for evaluating weapon systems vital to national defense.


Key Responsibilities: Your primary role will involve the construction and operation of hardware-in-the-loop configurations centered around unique weapon systems. You will be programming in C++, ensuring a thorough understanding of latency, thread safety, and data management with hardware interfaces.


Technical Skills: Candidates should have a robust background in embedded hardware systems and sensors, with a solid grasp of electrical interfaces and communication protocols. Documentation of code, utilizing CI/CD systems, and effective communication of project status and requirements are essential.


Qualifications: To qualify, you must hold a BS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related field, along with a minimum of 2 years of experience in hardware-in-the-loop systems, embedded systems, or C++ 6-DOF simulations. Proficiency in software programming and experience with highly multi-threaded systems and object-oriented programming are crucial.


Security Clearance: Candidates must be able to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by the start date and ultimately achieve a Secret level clearance. U.S. citizenship is a requirement.


Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to those with significant experience in designing and implementing hardware-in-the-loop test environments and those familiar with high-fidelity (6-DOF) software simulations for aerial platforms, including missiles and aircraft.


Additional Skills: Familiarity with weapon systems such as missiles, seekers, and naval platforms is advantageous. Experience with technologies such as CUDA, FPGAs, compilers, MPSoC, networking protocols, Python, Matlab, and Simulink will be beneficial.
