We are seeking a highly skilled AFSIM Analyst to join our team at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL). As a key member of our Strike Analysis Group, you will be responsible for developing models and performing analysis on sensor, tracker, communication, and weapon systems for mission-level simulations using AFSIM.
Key Responsibilities- Model Development and Analysis: Develop and implement models to simulate complex systems and analyze data to inform conclusions and support decision-making.
- Statistical Analysis: Perform statistical analysis to identify trends, assess risk, and document uncertainties in simulation results.
- Collaboration and Teamwork: Collaborate with our software development team to improve our custom tools, including designing efficient data representations for large datasets, testing accurate interactions across interdependent algorithms, and automating production analysis pipelines.
- Communication and Presentation: Present your work through briefings to both technical specialists and pivotal decision makers.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a technical or scientific field such as Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science or another related discipline.
- Experience: At least two years of experience working with AFSIM to conduct modeling, simulation, and analysis.
- Skills: Highly skilled in learning new and challenging topics, proficient to fluent in a programming or scripting language such as MATLAB or Python.
- Security Clearance: Ability to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain a Top Secret level clearance.
- Advanced Education: Master's degree or PhD in a technical or scientific field such as Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science or another related discipline.
- Domain Knowledge: Knowledge in Air or Surface Warfare domains.
- Security Clearance: Active Top Secret security clearance.
