Position Overview: Are you an experienced professional in the field of wireless communications and networking engineering? We are looking for a dedicated individual to tackle significant communications challenges within specialized operations and intelligence sectors. As a Wireless Communications Research Specialist, you will engage in a variety of dynamic projects aimed at developing innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research on emerging technologies to create solutions that address current and future threats.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and solve complex problems.
- Work with a range of technologies, including wired and wireless systems (RF & optical), line-of-sight (LOS) and beyond-line-of-sight (BLOS) communications, SATCOM, IP networking, RF systems, protocols, software-defined radio (SDR), stealth waveforms, 5G cellular networks, and cognitive radio.
Qualifications:
- A PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related technical field.
- A minimum of one year of experience in communications, signal processing, or network systems engineering.
- Proficiency in communication theory and digital signal processing (DSP), with a solid understanding of the physical, data link, and media access layers of communication or networking systems.
- Experience in modeling and simulating the physical layer using MATLAB, Python, or similar programming languages.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, along with excellent oral and written communication abilities.
- Eligibility to obtain an Interim Top Secret level security clearance and ultimately a Top Secret level clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least five years of experience in commercial and/or government communication and network systems engineering.
- Recent familiarity with the Department of Defense (DoD) and/or intelligence community sponsors and programs.
- Possession of an active TS/SCI w/ Poly clearance.
