KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Respond to all inquiries from guests regarding catering and event needs through both verbal and written communication.
  • Coordinate event bookings, including menu selection, room arrangements, and any special requests from clients.
  • Ensure the successful execution of all catering functions.
  • Manage group reservations and catering requirements.
  • Collaborate with relevant departments to fulfill event needs.
  • Process billing for all services rendered to guests and departments.
  • Disseminate information about upcoming events to all necessary teams.
  • Develop and oversee the departmental budget.
  • Order supplies as needed for events.
  • Notify the Food & Beverage Director of all scheduled events.
  • Handle sales leads and inquiries regarding meeting spaces.
  • Prepare contracts and follow up with clients regarding payments.
  • Monitor the condition of event spaces and equipment.
  • Work effectively under pressure and manage multiple deadlines.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Exhibit ethical and cooperative behavior with guests and colleagues.
  • Recruit, hire, and train staff to maintain optimal staffing levels.
  • Supervise hourly staff to ensure efficient operations.
  • Provide recommendations regarding employee management decisions.
  • Assist in controlling food and beverage costs through supervision.
  • Ensure all staff comply with company standards.
  • Oversee hiring, task assignments, staff motivation, evaluations, and management.
  • Estimate and requisition food, non-food, and beverage supplies.
  • Maintain personnel performance records and monitor staffing levels.
  • Request supplies from the storeroom and maintain adequate inventory levels.
  • Review financial transactions and monitor budgets for efficient operations.
  • Understand and implement food and beverage safety procedures.
  • Assist in supervising other outlets as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY ROLE:
  • This position includes supervisory responsibilities for front-of-house banquet staff in the absence of the Banquet Coordinator.
QUALIFICATIONS:

To succeed in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. is required.
  • A bachelor's degree from a four-year institution is preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience.
  • Intermediate computer skills are necessary.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
  • Must qualify for licensing as required.
  • Must have scheduling flexibility, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English is essential.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills are a must.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The physical demands of this position include:
  • Frequent walking, climbing stairs, bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
  • Walking and/or standing for approximately 70% of the time.
  • Lifting items weighing between 75 to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to push and pull equipment weighing up to 100 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics include:
  • Primarily indoor work with exposure to various elements.
  • Regular exposure to noise and bright lighting.
  • Potential exposure to second-hand smoke.
