Job Summary

Bruckner Truck Sales, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Parts Manager to oversee the safe, efficient, and profitable operation of the Parts Department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in inventory control, parts management, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and analyze end-of-month inventory reports to ensure accurate stock levels and identify areas for improvement.
  • Oversee all stock orders, emergency orders, and special orders, including expediting back orders to meet customer demands.
  • Control inventory levels and obsolescence, ensuring that the Parts Department is well-stocked and able to meet customer needs.
  • Prepare and return monthly core returns to vendors, ensuring that all necessary documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Report to oversee semi-annual service parts returns to Mack, ensuring that all necessary documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Evaluate monthly profit and loss reports to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations to management.
  • Evaluate monthly Mack billings to ensure accuracy and make recommendations to management.
  • Oversee account coding of local parts invoices from vendors, ensuring that all necessary documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Answer customer phone calls, fill orders, and assist customers at the parts counter as needed.
  • Hire and discharge personnel in the Parts Department, ensuring that the team is well-trained and equipped to meet customer needs.
  • Train parts personnel, including outside and counter salespersons, parts clerks, shipping and receiving clerks, and parts runners.
  • Operate all parts equipment and oversee maintenance of equipment to ensure that it is in good working order.
  • Meet regularly with Sales and Service Managers to evaluate and maintain interdepartmental relations, address concerns, and integrate plans to maximize dealership performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Visit primary customers to monitor customer relations, their needs, problems, and satisfactions with distributorship performance, especially parts-related items.
Requirements
  • Minimum high school diploma required; degree or college credits toward management or business preferred.
  • Three years or more experience in the operation of a heavy-duty truck parts department.
  • At least one year experience in the operation of a computerized inventory control system.
  • Strong mathematical skills and reasoning ability, with the ability to read computer-generated reports, office reports, invoices, etc.
  • Ability to compute numbers manually or by use of calculator or computer.
  • Ability to operate computer terminals with keyboard and mouse, 10-key calculator, fax machine, and other various office equipment.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with customers, vendors, and coworkers in a positive and constructive manner.
