POSITION OVERVIEW

The Staff Integration Engineer will play a crucial role in the design, development, and testing of advanced aircraft Power Systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Formulate and update intricate system integration and development test protocols, conduct sophisticated tests, and document findings from laboratory and aircraft evaluations.
  • Prepare and assess custom test equipment schematics and designs.
  • Oversee and monitor the formal release process for test equipment drawings.
  • Assist junior engineers in the design of custom test equipment.
  • Evaluate and resolve complex technical challenges requiring thorough analysis of various factors, utilizing test data and specification requirements.
  • Organize, analyze, and document results using various data visualization and analysis tools, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
  • Conduct system integration and development testing and troubleshooting with both custom and standard laboratory test equipment, defining necessary equipment for problem identification and resolution.
  • Establish standard and custom test equipment to facilitate integration and development projects.
  • Prepare and communicate complex technical information to internal and external engineers, program staff, and other stakeholders.
  • Guide technicians and engineers in executing system integration and unit-level development tests, as well as in building custom test equipment.
  • Support the selection and evaluation of external suppliers for test equipment.
  • Develop software applications and utilize computer systems to perform tests on electronic products and systems.
  • Assist in system, environmental, and electromagnetic interference testing of aircraft electrical power generation, conversion, and distribution systems.
  • Prepare and review system and unit-level test protocols and reports for aircraft electrical power systems.
  • Support compliance testing for DO-160, MIL-STD-810, and MIL-STD-461 standards related to aerospace electrical power equipment.
  • Develop and review testing procedures for environmental and electromagnetic interference qualifications.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field from an accredited institution is required.
  • Typically requires eight (8) or more years of relevant experience in the responsibilities outlined above.

EMPLOYMENT ELIGIBILITY

  • As a contractor for the US Department of Defense, Astronics adheres to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Candidates must qualify as a US Person under ITAR.
  • Employment offers are contingent upon successfully passing a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which includes testing for cannabis use.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The base salary range for this position is $122,003 - $183,004 annually. Various job-related and non-discriminatory factors, including experience, skills, education, and market conditions, will influence the actual salary offered.
