About Us:
The Metropolitan Council serves as the regional government for the seven-county Twin Cities metropolitan area. We strategically plan for the future, focusing on regional transportation, wastewater management, and housing services.

Metro Transit, one of the largest transit systems in the nation, employs over 3,000 individuals and facilitates more than 80 million rides annually through a comprehensive network of buses, light rail, and commuter trains, along with resources for carpooling, vanpooling, walking, or biking in the Twin Cities.

Key Responsibilities:
The Lead Project Coordinator will oversee and manage critical customer information initiatives for Metro Transit. This includes:
1. Initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, and concluding projects.
2. Developing project timelines and budgets while serving as a management resource within customer information project domains.
3. Coordinating efforts among internal and external stakeholders, consultants, and vendors to ensure project success.

Project Management:
- Develop and manage a portfolio of customer information projects.
- Support the creation of the Transit Information annual work plan.
- Communicate project objectives, timelines, deliverables, and status updates to a wider audience, including stakeholders and customers.
- Collaborate with other Project Managers and internal teams across all divisions.
- Foster project management knowledge and skills within the Transit Information team and across Metro Transit.
- Create standard project management templates and documentation to align with best practices.

Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a combination of relevant experience in project or contract management along with education in Urban or Transportation Planning, Business Administration, or a related field:
- High school diploma/GED with eight (8) years of experience
- Associate degree with six (6) years of experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher with four (4) years of experience

Desired Qualifications:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
- Experience with public transportation and transit information tools.
- Proven ability to prioritize, execute, and delegate project tasks.
- Experience in mentoring and training on project management methodologies.
- Adaptability to shifting priorities.
- Commitment to fostering an equitable and respectful work environment that values diversity.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Within the first six months, candidates should demonstrate:
- Knowledge of project management principles.
- Attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Skills in persuasion and influence with business partners.
- Negotiation skills to gain cooperation and action.
- Facilitation and collaborative decision-making abilities.
- Effective communication skills for diverse stakeholders.
- Capability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
