Aypa is well-capitalized and strategically positioned to advance projects with optimal deal structures tailored to meet our clients' requirements. Since the initiation of our first energy storage project in 2018, we have been at the forefront of energy storage innovation. As a leader in the sector, we currently have over 22 GW of utility-scale energy storage and hybrid renewable energy projects in various stages of development, alongside 33 projects either operational or under construction across North America.
This position reports directly to the Chief Commercial Officer and will spearhead regional origination efforts within Aypa.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with both new and existing clients, including utilities and other load-serving entities, as well as commercial and industrial sectors to cultivate comprehensive relationships;
- Identify and assess requests for proposals (RFP/RFI) opportunities, target bilateral customers, and create proposals and marketing materials;
- Innovate and develop new power sales structures;
- Identify prospective clients and implement effective customer sales strategies;
- Establish and maintain robust customer and business relationships;
- Provide market intelligence feedback to the Aypa development and management teams to enhance the broader business development group;
- Contribute insights into the company’s business plan and development strategy;
- Collaborate with regulatory and policy experts to monitor and integrate policy and power economics changes into corporate strategy;
- Perform additional duties as required or assigned.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in energy origination, structuring, negotiating, and executing contracts within a power marketing role in the renewable sector, particularly with a focus on storage;
- A proven track record of sales and established relationships within WECC, ERCOT, CAISO, or MISO;
- Established connections with buyers, including utilities or commercial and industrial customers;
- A strong understanding of US power markets, including ISO, RTO, and bilateral energy markets.
Salary: A competitive base salary commensurate with experience;
Bonus: An annual performance-based bonus will be awarded based on individual contributions and the overall success of the business;
