Shift Availability: 1st and 2nd Shift
Per Diem: $40/day
Position Overview:
The Manufacturing Operations Supervisor is responsible for directing and managing the daily activities on the production floor, ensuring that output goals are achieved while upholding exceptional standards of quality and safety. This position plays a vital role in enhancing production workflows, leading a team of operators, and aligning all operations with the strategic objectives of the organization. The Manufacturing Operations Supervisor will report to the Production Manager and collaborate closely with various departments to facilitate seamless operations.
Core Responsibilities:
- Oversee, guide, and develop a team of production operators and technicians.
- Delegate tasks and responsibilities, providing training to team members and leaders to ensure effective workforce deployment.
- Conduct regular performance assessments, offer constructive feedback, and implement necessary training initiatives.
- Monitor daily production processes to guarantee that all operations are conducted efficiently and adhere to established schedules.
- Collaborate with planning and logistics teams to secure the necessary materials and resources for production.
- Establish production timelines and manage workflow to achieve production objectives.
- Ensure that all products comply with the organization's quality standards and specifications.
- Initiate corrective measures and continuous improvement strategies to elevate product quality.
- Uphold company safety protocols, ensuring a secure working environment for all personnel.
- Perform regular safety audits and confirm that all equipment operates correctly and safely.
- Analyze production metrics to identify trends, obstacles, and opportunities for enhancement.
- Facilitate effective communication with other departments, including engineering, maintenance, and logistics, to address any production challenges.
- Engage in production meetings and provide insights on production status, challenges, and potential improvements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related discipline. Equivalent experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory capacity within a manufacturing setting, ideally in the commercial vehicle or automotive sector.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities, with a proven track record of motivating and developing staff.
- Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing concepts and continuous improvement practices.
- Comprehensive understanding of safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing context.
- Proficient in production management software and tools.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and manage multiple shifts as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the commercial vehicle manufacturing sector.
- Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards.
- Understanding of supply chain and inventory management principles.
