Internal Job Title: Key Partner Consultant - Audit, Legal & Compliance

Location: US- Atlanta, GA (hybrid)

FLSA: Exempt

Position Overview:

This role involves intricate compliance research and regulatory analysis to monitor applicable regulations and support business operations as per project plans. The position evaluates adherence to underwriting rules, guidelines, procedures, and programs. It also entails overseeing complex projects that demand substantial expertise in insurance and compliance, along with managing the company's record retention program.

Key Responsibilities:

1. **Audit Management:**
  • Design and execute thorough audit programs to evaluate the efficiency of internal controls.
  • Perform regular audits to pinpoint areas of non-compliance, operational inefficiencies, or potential risks.
  • Examine audit results and propose corrective measures or process enhancements to boost compliance and reduce risks.
  • Collaborate with external auditors as needed and ensure prompt completion of audit tasks.
2. **Legal & Compliance:**
  • Remain informed about relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards concerning vehicle protection products, consumer rights, data privacy, and financial services.
  • Interpret and convey legal obligations to internal stakeholders, ensuring adherence to applicable laws and regulations.
  • Work alongside legal counsel to review forms and regulatory submissions to states and lenders to ensure compliance and mitigate legal risks.

Job Requirements:
  • BA degree in business or a related field preferred.
  • Paralegal or law degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience or equivalent.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of MS Project.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets, database applications, and document management software.
  • Experience with software, including Nils, Serff, ODEN, and internet research.
  • Experience collaborating with state and federal legal and regulatory agencies.
  • Experience in legislative review, analysis, and reporting.
  • Experience developing and filing policy forms.
  • Experience working with wholesale and retail brokers/agencies.
  • In-depth technical knowledge of insurance products, processes, and services. Knowledge of underwriting, claims, and contracts preferred.
  • Experience developing and maintaining underwriting compliance programs and procedures preferred.
  • Experience in a legal or compliance-related department (preferably within an insurance company).
  • Proven history of establishing relationships with State Insurance Department personnel and examiners.
  • Experience managing corporate licensing and other functions related to the operations of an insurance company.
  • Strong leadership, project management, and relationship management skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a background check.
