Your Responsibilities

The Provider Credentialing Coordinator will oversee the administrative functions related to credentialing services, ensuring compliance with requirements and maintaining precise and current provider information.

Your Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Managing all elements of credentialing and recredentialing for providers, which includes verifying applications and documents, sending requests, and accurately recording provider information.
  • Handling the credentialing and recredentialing processes for 'Organizational Providers', including the verification of applications, dispatching initial applications, and managing approval and denial communications.
  • Processing credentialing and recredentialing applications efficiently and accurately, preparing credentialing files and monthly reports for the Credentialing Committee.
  • Updating databases and communicating provider changes to relevant health plans and departments, while coordinating credentialing workflows and maintaining task management grids for follow-up and completion.
  • Supporting and maintaining the database, addressing and resolving inquiries related to the database, and making necessary modifications.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience: 2-4 years in healthcare or physician practice; certification as a Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) is preferred.
  • Proficient in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative within established guidelines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to maintain excellent relationships with all levels of staff and external stakeholders.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational abilities.
  • Capability to analyze data and propose solutions while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
