The compensation range for the Chaplain role at Center For Elders Independence is $62,615 - $93,898 annually, determined by market standards for the position, along with the candidate's experience, skills, and professional background.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides spiritual and pastoral care aligned with the evolving needs of participants and their families across the CEI care continuum.
- Supports the objectives and outcomes of Palliative Care and Hospice Programs.
- Prepares documentation regarding participant interactions and referrals for pastoral services.
- Collaborates with staff to assist participants and families in advance care planning and end-of-life decision-making.
- Facilitates Spirituality Groups, memorial services, and other group activities in partnership with the team.
- Acts as a resource for interdisciplinary team members on Spiritual Care.
- Offers participants and families from diverse philosophical and religious backgrounds opportunities to express and share their thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and values.
- Records participant interactions in the electronic medical record system.
- Engages in a collaborative approach with the interdisciplinary team to assess participant and family responses to care.
- Works alongside community religious representatives to ensure continuity of spiritual care for participants.
- Provides bereavement support resources to staff.
- Participates in Behavioral Health and Interdisciplinary Care Team meetings, contributing to the development and review of care plans.
- Supports strategic initiatives to integrate spiritual care services across various centers.
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Theology, Divinity, Spirituality, Pastoral Ministry, or Psychology is required.
- A minimum of 4 units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) is required.
- Certification or eligibility for certification with the Association of Professional Chaplains, National Association of Catholic Chaplains, or Neshama; National Association of Jewish Chaplains is required, with the expectation to achieve Board Certification within two years of employment.
- Preferred: One year of experience in healthcare, palliative care, hospice, or hospital chaplaincy.
- Knowledge of various theological perspectives, rituals, customs, and beliefs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in computer applications (Word, Excel, Microsoft Outlook), with experience in electronic medical records preferred.
- Bilingual candidates are preferred.
- Demonstrated flexibility, authenticity, sensitivity, and a collaborative spirit.
- Ability to work effectively in an interfaith and multicultural environment.
- Must possess reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and auto insurance.
