Cost Accountant Job Summary:

Vitis Energy is seeking a highly skilled Cost Accountant to support the strategic financial planning of clean energy development, construction, and operations. This role requires a unique blend of technical financial acumen, accounting skills, strategic thinking, and leadership in a complex, multi-entity environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing costs across multiple entities and projects, possess strong analytical skills, and be familiar with the energy development industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement cost-control measures and optimize financial operations for efficiency.
  • Monitor and analyze operating costs and make recommendations for financial optimization.
  • Oversee tax planning and compliance, ensuring adherence to tax regulations and exploring tax incentives available in the renewable energy sector.
  • Analyze project-specific costs for energy infrastructure, such as solar, wind, and traditional energy projects.
  • Conduct analysis and financial forecasting, providing insights on market trends in the renewable energy sector.
  • Work closely with the Financial Controller to develop and implement financial strategies in alignment with the company's goals.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO/President and members of the executive management team.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting.
  • Professional certification: CPA (Certified Public Accountant)
  • Knowledge of GAAP and cost accounting standards.
  • Industry experience: extensive experience in accounting, preferably in the renewable energy sector or a related industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective team and external relations.
  • Highly proficient in various ERP software and the ability to implement new systems as required.
  • Capability to produce high-quality work products and deliverables independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft SharePoint and its native applications, including lists and Power Automate, to efficiently and accurately manage data, collaborate, and manage workflow automation within projects.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to frequently lift or move items up to 10 pounds.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift or move items up to 25 pounds.
Travel:

As required; potential for overnights is approximately 25%
