Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Controls Systems Engineer to join our team at Persimmon Technologies. As a key member of our Controls Engineering department, you will be responsible for designing and developing advanced control systems for robotic manipulators and electromechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop dynamic models and simulations in Matlab to optimize system performance
  • Implement software on real-time platforms to control and monitor system operations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and select controls-related components, including actuators and sensors
  • Conduct machine design analysis to ensure optimal system performance and efficiency
  • Travel within and outside the US to support project requirements
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer, Mechanical, Electrical, Aeronautic, or similar engineering field
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience in controls engineering or a related field
  • Proficiency in Matlab, C, and C++ programming languages
  • Experience with electronic circuit design, prototyping, and troubleshooting
  • Strong understanding of system dynamics and control systems theory
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's or Ph.D. degree in Computer, Mechanical, Electrical, Aeronautic, or similar engineering field
  • Experience with OrCAD, PADS, or similar design tools
  • Lab skills, including soldering and rework of PCBAs
  • Theoretical background and experience in electrical and electronic system design
