Job Overview

Salary: $95,000 - $115,000

The Project Manager at TMG Construction oversees all phases of construction projects from inception to completion. This role typically involves managing commercial and institutional projects valued at $5M or less. The Project Manager must possess a strong understanding of process management and be adaptable to various delivery methods, including IDIQ, Lump-Sum Contracting, and Fast Track contracts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the construction workflow from project initiation through to completion, including estimating, negotiation, contracting, administration, financial oversight, and project closeout.
  • Engage with Owners, Design Professionals, and stakeholders to ascertain project requirements, ensuring client satisfaction and addressing any issues promptly.
  • Obtain and manage all necessary building permits and regulatory prerequisites.
  • Conduct site visits to ensure safety, quality, and compliance with the contracted scope of work.
  • Prepare, negotiate, and manage cost estimates and proposals related to project changes.
  • Develop and maintain critical path project schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project.
  • Drive project performance by updating schedules and identifying impacts due to changes.
  • Collaborate with the Project Superintendent to manage look-ahead schedules.
  • Implement strategies for subcontracting or self-performing project tasks to meet objectives of cost, schedule, and quality.
  • Negotiate contracts and purchase orders to ensure all project goals are met.
  • Proactively identify potential issues and facilitate effective solutions.
  • Lead project progress meetings and document outcomes.
  • Establish and implement project control measures.
  • Manage project budgets and document changes to ensure stakeholder interests are upheld.
  • Prepare monthly requisitions and manage vendor payments to fulfill financial obligations.
  • Ensure compliance with all contract terms and legal requirements.
  • Administer client-specific programs such as CQC, Safety, and Environmental Stewardship.
  • Maintain effective communication with supporting teams such as Accounting and HR.
  • Document substantial completion and manage the project closeout process.
  • Engage in industry networking and professional development opportunities.
Required CompetenciesConstruction Expertise

  • Ability to estimate, solicit, evaluate, and manage project objectives.
  • Proficient in creating and managing CPM schedules.
  • Understanding of project cost control and change order management.
  • Knowledge of construction methods related to commercial and institutional projects.

Minimum Qualifications
  • B.S. degree in engineering or construction management with a minimum of 7 years of experience, or 12+ years of relevant experience without a degree.
  • Experience in estimating and managing both subcontracted and self-performed work.
  • Proficient with industry-standard software.
  • Experience in government contracting is preferred.
  • Current safety credentials including OSHA 30, First Aid, and CPR.
  • Current CQC certification issued by USACE / NAVFAC.
  • Professional credentials such as Associate Constructor (AC), Certified Professional Constructor (CPC), or PE in good standing.
