Position Summary
Aerospace is in search of an EHS Specialist (Environmental Health & Safety Specialist II/III) responsible for overseeing and executing Occupational Safety and Environmental initiatives. This includes emergency preparedness, fire safety, life safety, fire systems inspections and maintenance, fall protection, electrical safety, lockout/tagout (LOTO), contractor safety, injury investigations, laser safety, among others.
Work Model
This role is a full-time position requiring 100% onsite presence.
Key Responsibilities
- Enhance EHS awareness within the workplace through the implementation of established Corporate EHS programs.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to mutually define EHS requirements and priorities, forming the basis for departmental objectives.
- Ensure adherence to internal EHS regulations and compliance with local, state, and federal laws, including conducting inspections and maintaining necessary records.
- Interface with Emergency Response and Crisis Management teams.
- Investigate incidents to identify root causes, develop corrective actions, and ensure completion.
- Provide training to personnel on environmental, health, and safety programs, regulations, and EHS awareness initiatives.
- Respond to on-site emergencies, including evacuation, shelter-in-place, and lockdown situations.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements for Environmental Health & Safety Specialist II:
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety or a related field with at least 1 year of experience.
- Willingness to travel domestically approximately 5% of the time.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance issued by the US government; U.S. citizenship is required.
Additional Requirements for Environmental Health & Safety Specialist III:
- 2-3 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in program and project management.
Preferred Qualifications
- 4-5 years of experience in the field.
- Certifications in First Aid, CPR, and AED.
- Familiarity with OSHA, NFPA, NEC, and ANSI Standards.
- Knowledge of environmental, health, and safety best practices, standards, and methodologies.
