Position Overview
Tetra Tech is seeking a full-time Environmental Chemist to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze chemical data from field samples to evaluate environmental interactions.
- Identify and quantify chemicals of concern in samples, assessing contamination levels.
- Validate analytical data for organic and inorganic parameters by interpreting laboratory methodologies and results.
- Prepare comprehensive remedial investigation reports and progress updates using interactive dashboards in Power BI and Tableau.
- Maintain and calibrate analytical instruments and equipment.
- Ensure proper sample preservation, handling, and transfer to laboratories.
- Implement quality control sampling methodologies to ensure data accuracy.
- Perform data cleaning and transformation for analytical data uploads to databases such as Access and SQL Server.
- Develop SQL queries and Python scripts for data analysis and reporting.
- Utilize Power Query and Excel for data table preparation.
- Conduct statistical analyses using ProUCL and RStudio software.
- Oversee the development of environmental site assessment reports, coordinating with technical reviewers and managing the production of data visuals and graphics.
- Prepare and review Quality Assurance Project Plans, ensuring laboratory methodologies meet accuracy and statistical validity standards.
Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in Chemistry is required, along with a minimum of two years of relevant experience.
Related Occupations:
Experience as a Science Laboratory Technician or similar roles that involve:
- Ordering and managing chemicals and supplies for laboratory experiments.
- Researching methodologies and conducting preliminary tests.
- Preparing chemicals and instruments for laboratory use.
- Managing hazardous waste disposal.
- Operating and maintaining analytical equipment.
- Providing training on statistical analysis and Excel functions.
- Collecting and analyzing experimental data to refine methodologies.
