Position Title: Senior Business Systems Analyst

Reports to: Project Advisor or IT Manager

Role Summary:

The Senior Business Systems Analyst plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between technology and business operations. This position is responsible for enhancing the portfolio of business applications utilized in various processes. The analyst leads teams to implement improvements and manage small-scale projects, serving as the primary liaison between business units and IT.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and develop application roadmaps for the business applications portfolio.
  • Promote and advocate for improvement initiatives through effective cost-benefit analyses.
  • Establish metrics to assess and validate the value derived from implemented solutions.
  • Guide teams in efforts related to business application and process modifications.
  • Create functional specifications to ensure smooth transitions to technical delivery teams.
  • Document testing protocols and oversee integration, acceptance testing, and issue resolution.
  • Assist in crafting training materials to facilitate the rollout of new business processes and IT capabilities.
  • Design and manage work plans for implementing changes to business applications.
  • Conduct interviews with users to gather, document, analyze, and prioritize requirements for business applications.
  • Translate business needs into system configurations that positively influence operations.
  • Develop functional designs supporting system implementations, adhering to the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and methodologies like AIM.
  • Formulate and execute system testing plans and strategies for deploying applications into production environments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to application functionality.
  • Collaborate with developers and database administrators to rectify application-related challenges.

Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to perform all essential duties effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and excellent communication abilities.

Knowledge Requirements:

  • Comprehensive understanding of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC), ITIL, and implementation management methodologies such as AIM.
  • In-depth knowledge of business function processes, terminology, and interrelationships.
  • Familiarity with commercially available applications that meet business process needs, including evaluation and selection versus development decisions.
  • Understanding of business and IT strategy principles within the organization.
  • Awareness of project management principles, system configuration, and user acceptance testing linked to requirements documentation.
  • Insight into business systems implementation challenges.

Educational Background:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, preferably in Technology or Business.

Experience:

Minimum of 6 years of experience in HR technology applications, including support for business applications, analysis, recommendations for improvements, and training development and delivery.

Experience with Oracle Cloud HCM is essential, covering areas such as Core HR, Benefits, Compensation, Performance Management, Recruiting, Onboarding, Talent Management, Self-service, Payroll, and Time & Labor.

Experience in business process development is also required.

Leadership Expectations:

Expected to serve as a resource for knowledge transfer, training, and quality assurance of work. May occasionally lead a team.
