The primary objective of the Principal Business Consultant is to ensure the successful execution of implementation projects while prioritizing client satisfaction, sharing best practices within the team, and guiding junior consultants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively manages project implementations while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Contributes to the development of best practices and provides mentorship to team members.
  • Assists the Project Manager with project engagements, including the creation of Statements of Work (SOW) and project planning.
  • Acts as the Lead Business Consultant on implementation projects across various functional areas.
  • Maintains full chargeability across multiple client accounts concurrently.
  • Creates and authors Best Practice Documents in relevant functional areas.
  • Identifies and pursues additional consulting opportunities at client sites.
  • Communicates pertinent information to Managers, the Professional Services Director, or Account Managers as necessary.
  • Offers industry and functional expertise during discovery workshops, aiding in the design, configuration, testing, and production support of the Product solution tailored to client needs.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for clients, providing consultation and expert advice.
  • Maintains close communication with the Project Manager regarding client inquiries and issues related to the Product solution and its configuration.
  • Leads the workshop and requirements phase of the project.
  • Acts as a mentor and role model for Business Consultants across various functional areas of the Product solution.
  • Collaborates with Managers to enhance, publish, and train staff on implementation best practices in specific functional areas.
  • Delivers presentations of the Product solution to both executive and user-level audiences.
  • Assists the Project Manager in securing client sign-off on deliverables and milestones.
  • Engages in hands-on project implementation across all phases, reporting directly to the Project Manager.
  • Provides sales and presales support through estimation, document preparation for RFP/RFI responses, sales proposals, and hands-on demonstrations in specific functional areas to meet client requirements.
  • Supports Technical Consultants by offering business and functional guidance, reviewing, testing, and validating scripted solutions such as reports, plugins, and interfaces.
  • Consults with ION Product Management to share insights on industry developments to enhance ION Products.
  • Contributes to the establishment of services best practices.

Required Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:

  • Experience with Openlink Endur product implementations relevant to the role.
  • 5-10 years of experience in the ETRM industry, systems implementation, or similar project roles, preferably in a consulting capacity.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Economics, or a related IT field, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a project team structure.
  • Willingness to work onsite at client locations.
  • 8 to 10 years of direct experience in designing, configuring, and troubleshooting installations in client environments.
  • 8 to 10 years of industry or systems experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in multiple areas of Product configuration and in one or more industry Product sets.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
