Position Overview:

The Principal Business Consultant is tasked with ensuring the successful execution of implementation projects while prioritizing client satisfaction, fostering best practices within the team, and guiding junior consultants.

Core Responsibilities:

  1. Effectively executes projects with a focus on client satisfaction.
  2. Contributes to the development of best practices and mentors junior team members.
  3. Assists the Project Manager in various aspects of engagements, including SOW creation and project planning.
  4. Acts as the Lead Business Consultant on implementation projects across multiple functional areas.
  5. Maintains full chargeability across multiple client accounts concurrently.
  6. Creates Best Practice Documentation within the functional domain.
  7. Identifies and pursues additional consulting opportunities at client sites.
  8. Provides relevant information to Managers, Professional Services Directors, or Account Managers as necessary.
  9. Offers industry insights and functional expertise during discovery workshops to design, configure, test, and support the Product solution tailored to client needs.
  10. Serves as the primary point of contact for clients seeking consultation and expert guidance.
  11. Maintains close communication with the Project Manager regarding client inquiries and issues related to the Product solution and its configuration.
  12. Leads the requirements gathering and design phases of projects.
  13. Acts as a mentor and role model for Business Consultants at all levels within the functional area of the Product solution.
  14. Collaborates with Managers to enhance, publish, and train staff on implementation best practices in specific functional areas.
  15. Delivers presentations of the Product solution to both executive and user-level audiences.
  16. Assists the Project Manager in securing client approval of deliverables and milestones.
  17. Engages in hands-on project implementation across all phases of the Product implementation, reporting to the Project Manager.
  18. Provides sales and presales support through estimations, document creation for RFP/RFI responses, sales proposals, and hands-on demonstrations tailored to meet client business requirements.
  19. Supports Technical Consultants by offering business and functional guidance, reviewing, testing, and validating scripted solutions.
  20. Consults with Product Management to share insights on industry developments to enhance ION Products.
  21. Contributes to the establishment of services best practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience with Openlink Endur product implementations.
  • 5-10 years of experience in the ETRM industry, systems implementation, or a similar project environment, preferably in a consulting capacity.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Economics, or a related IT field, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to function effectively within a project team structure.
  • Willingness to work onsite at client locations.
  • 8 to 10 years of direct experience in designing, configuring, and troubleshooting installations in client environments.
  • 8 to 10 years of industry and systems experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in multiple areas of Product configuration and in one or more industry-specific Product sets.
  • Strong client-facing and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
