Position Overview:
The Senior PeopleSoft Business Systems Analyst plays a crucial role in guiding and engaging in comprehensive business process and data analysis initiatives to enhance our Institutional PeopleSoft Financial Supply Chain Management (FSCM) and associated third-party systems.
Key Responsibilities:
This role involves leading and providing specialized knowledge in accordance with industry best practices to define, recommend, develop, implement, and maintain solutions for clinical, research, and financial applications at MD Anderson Cancer Center.
The Senior Analyst will oversee and guide technical project team members, as well as collaborate with other IT professionals both within and outside the Information Services Division.
Project Management:
Responsibilities include managing assigned projects, ensuring daily production support for installed software, overseeing on-call recovery procedures, and maintaining documentation for such software. User support and project leadership responsibilities will also be part of this role.
Business Process Expertise:
This position demands extensive knowledge of business processes, with the capability to leverage that expertise to design and implement effective programmatic solutions to meet business requirements.
The Senior Analyst will contribute to the establishment of standards and processes for the team, mentoring colleagues in the design and development of solutions. This role serves as a key subject matter expert, guiding team members and projects.
Collaboration and Guidance:
Working closely with various stakeholders, including department personnel and external customers, the Senior Analyst will provide technical guidance and alternatives to other analysts in the development of complex data management and business applications.
Additionally, this role will support the implementation of data management, integration, and reporting initiatives involving PeopleSoft data and interfaces across various applications within MD Anderson's software portfolio.
Service Competencies:
The Senior Analyst will lead PeopleSoft FSCM implementation initiatives, facilitating meetings with stakeholders, managing standard project implementation processes, including requirements gathering, solution design, gap analysis, functional design specifications, system configuration, testing, training, and comprehensive documentation.
Providing consulting and system support throughout the project lifecycle is essential, along with staying informed on business and technology trends to assess their impact on our service line portfolio.
Team Collaboration:
Collaboration with enterprise architects, project teams, and functional and technical analysts is vital to design solution architectures that meet operational requirements while ensuring scalability, maintainability, security, and high availability.
Communication Skills:
The ability to identify necessary information to clarify problems, seek that information from appropriate sources, and employ effective questioning techniques is crucial. Clear communication is essential in conversations and interactions, ensuring ideas are organized and expressed clearly.
Support and Oversight:
This position will also involve supporting PeopleSoft FSCM applications in both production and non-production environments, including development, implementations, upgrades, and testing.
Regular meetings with staff and business users will be held to discuss priorities, and mentorship will be provided to enhance the current state of business and systems knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree required.
- Experience: A minimum of seven years in software systems implementation and support, business systems process analysis and design, with domain experience in PeopleSoft or Epic software, including two years in a lead or supervisory role.
- Preferred Experience: Expertise in PeopleSoft, Supply Chain Management, Warehouse Management, Inventory Management, and ERP analyst experience.
