This role may also lead large and complex computer application projects and provide guidance to a small team of professionals in support of the department's automated business systems.

Under the general supervision of the Unit or Division Head, this position is responsible for conducting intricate business system analyses within the department, ensuring that these systems operate effectively. The role acts as a bridge between the assigned client area and other departments by planning, executing, and overseeing the analysis of complex business challenges that can be addressed through automated systems.

The position entails conducting feasibility assessments for potential new systems to bolster departmental operations. It includes programming and system development using end-user programming tools. Collaboration with user groups is essential to support division staff in training, addressing inquiries, evaluating user requirements, and recommending adjustments, while ensuring that data access controls and computer hardware and software security comply with corporate and departmental standards. This role will also establish and enforce policies and procedures regarding the alignment of business systems with organizational needs.

Due to the nature of the work, supervision is minimal, but the position may provide mentorship and direction to less experienced staff.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directs the work of other professionals or clerical staff in support of the department's automated business systems.
  • Formulates solutions to operational challenges and designs or modifies systems to enhance departmental functions. Responsible for updates, testing, and troubleshooting of FICO configurations as well as third-party financial software.
  • Manages expectations and project scope for both internal and external customers. Collaborates closely with IT Division personnel and assigned clients to ensure that developed functionalities align with business requirements.
  • Provides leadership in project management for large and complex computer application initiatives.
  • Creates policies and procedures related to the effectiveness of computer systems in meeting business needs.
  • Prepares plans for system conversion and user installation for project rollouts.
  • Ensures the security of departmental data, computer hardware, and software in accordance with corporate policies.
  • Evaluates new computer hardware and software to assess potential benefits for the department.
  • Acts as a liaison between business users and IT for SAP and third-party program installations, modifications, and updates as necessary.
  • Performs additional duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Systems Engineering, or a closely related field. Strong hands-on experience with SAP FICO configuration and S4 is preferred.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of diverse experience in Systems Analysis, feasibility studies, systems engineering, or a combination thereof, with at least four years in department-specific functions. Previous supervisory experience is highly desirable.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and clearly in English, essential for performing job responsibilities. Experience in translating between non-technical business users and technical IT personnel is preferred.
  • Demonstrated skills in problem analysis and resolution. Ability to collaborate effectively with individuals from various disciplines and levels of technical expertise. Familiarity with project methodologies and practices is required. Strong work habits, a solid work ethic, and adherence to company policies and business etiquette are essential.
  • Additional preferred experience includes:
    • Leading FICO initiatives.
    • Full life-cycle experience with multiple SAP implementations.
    • Experience with the SAP Treasury module.
    • Proficiency in ABAP debugging/programming.
    • Experience with B2B integrations (SFTP and RFC connections).
    • Proven track record in successful problem-solving.
    • Excellent documentation and presentation skills.
