Automation Technician Job Opportunity

Location: Newark, CA

Shift: Day Shift

Pay Rate: $30-$40/hr (Based on experience and meeting job requirements)

Position Overview:

The Automation Technician will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing sophisticated production machinery. This position is essential for ensuring the seamless operation of automated systems, enabling our client to consistently deliver high-quality products. Responsibilities include conducting preventative and corrective maintenance, collaborating with manufacturing teams, and actively participating in troubleshooting and system improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and enhance equipment to support manufacturing processes.
  • Effectively communicate equipment status to line leads and supervisors.
  • Diagnose equipment issues, determine corrective measures, and work alongside Manufacturing Engineers to resolve problems.
  • Complete assigned and ad-hoc work orders within the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Manage inventory accurately by processing parts transactions in the CMMS.
  • Engage in process reviews and contribute to problem-solving discussions.
  • Adhere to Environmental Health and Safety guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong mechanical and pneumatic knowledge and skills.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a technician with complex equipment.
  • Preferred experience with automated assembly machinery and high-volume automated systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Experience in troubleshooting complex systems is highly desirable.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • A proactive and positive attitude with a commitment to professional growth.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment used in specialized product manufacturing.
  • Fabricate parts as necessary in the machine shop.
  • Respond promptly to trouble calls to minimize equipment downtime.
