Position Overview:

The Automation Technician will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing sophisticated production machinery. This position is essential for ensuring the seamless operation of automated systems, which allows our client to consistently deliver high-quality products. Responsibilities include performing both preventive and corrective maintenance, collaborating closely with manufacturing teams, and actively engaging in troubleshooting and system improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Optimize and maintain equipment to support production activities.
  • Effectively communicate equipment status to line leads and supervisors.
  • Diagnose and address equipment malfunctions, collaborating with Manufacturing Engineers to implement solutions.
  • Complete assigned and ad-hoc work orders in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Manage inventory accurately by processing parts within the CMMS.
  • Engage in process reviews and contribute to problem-solving discussions.
  • Adhere to Environmental Health and Safety protocols to maintain a safe workplace.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong mechanical and pneumatic knowledge and skills.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a technician with complex equipment.
  • Preferred experience with automated assembly machinery and high-volume automated systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Experience in troubleshooting complex systems is highly desirable.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop professionally.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and conduct preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment used in specialized product manufacturing.
  • Fabricate parts as necessary in the machine shop.
  • Respond promptly to trouble calls to minimize production downtime.
