Purpose and Scope:

Amentum is seeking a highly skilled Business Development Manager to drive growth within the United States Space Force (USSF) and USAF Space Operations client base. The ideal candidate will have recent experience (last 5 years) in USSF and/or USAF Space Operations, with a strong understanding of customer operations, priorities, and goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute strategies to identify and pursue new business opportunities in the DOD USSF market.
  • Build and maintain close relationships with key customers to understand their requirements, plans, and goals.
  • Prepare and present capability statements and new business information presentations at senior and executive levels.
  • Work with a team to drive opportunities from Request for Information (RFI) to contract award, managing bid strategies and overseeing the development of technical, management, and cost strategies.
  • Identify and leverage teaming partners to enhance proposal offerings.
  • Develop and mature assigned market strategies for future market changes, business cases, and assess the likely impact on customers.
  • Consult with customers on upcoming requirements to shape requests for proposals (RFPs) and ensure Capture/Proposal teams have a full understanding of requirements, constraints, and perceived risks.
Requirements:
  • Recent (last 5 years) USSF and/or USAF Space Operations experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree in business or subject matter relevant to customer's mission required.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
  • Ability to rapidly absorb Amentum training in business development, capture, competitive intelligence, market dynamics, pricing, proposals, contracts, compliance, liability, insurance, and subcontracts.
  • Credibility with external constituents, specifically with the USSF/USAF Space Operations customer set.
  • Deep understanding of customer operations, priorities, short/long-term goals, strengths, and weaknesses.
  • Ability to work in a matrixed, fast-paced team environment in both hybrid, remote, and office environments.
  • Superior oral, written, and presentation communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Two (2) years supervisory/command experience of USSF/USAF Space Operations background within last 6 years.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) is required.
  • Ability to travel CONUS/OCONUS on demand.
