Position Overview:

We are seeking a proficient and driven Ignition SCADA Administrator to support our operations with a prominent client in the oil and gas sector. This role involves ensuring the optimal performance of our Ignition SCADA platform while utilizing your expertise in scripting and programming to enhance system capabilities. The ideal candidate will be proactive, capable of tackling challenges, developing strategies, and adhering to project deadlines.

This role necessitates on-site presence at the client's facility and may involve occasional travel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage multiple Ignition SCADA systems, ensuring their reliability and efficiency.
  • Design and implement advanced scripting solutions to tailor and improve the SCADA platform.
  • Develop and maintain Python scripts to automate processes and boost system performance.
  • Employ SQL skills to manipulate and query databases for effective data analysis and reporting.
  • Assist in the normalization and standardization of extensive data transformations to maintain data integrity.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to create user-friendly SCADA interfaces.
  • Provide on-site support and assistance at client locations as needed.
  • Demonstrate self-motivation and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Address technical issues effectively, formulate actionable plans, and execute them within set timelines.
  • Implement custom scripting solutions to fulfill project specifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in Ignition development.
  • 5+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry, preferably in upstream operations.
  • Experience in large-scale design and development of HMI and SCADA systems using the Ignition platform.
  • Knowledge of complex architecture implementation with on-premises Ignition SCADA systems and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with various device interfaces such as OPC UA, Modbus, and MQTT.
  • Experience in designing and constructing SCADA solutions, ideally with Ignition.
  • Experience integrating SCADA with various PLCs, including Allen-Bradley and Emerson ROC.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C#/.NET, SQL, Python, and JavaScript.

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Ignition Core and Gold Certification.
  • Experience with Cygnet SCADA software.
  • Experience in integrating SCADA data into enterprise data pipelines.
  • Familiarity with handling large datasets.
  • Knowledge of SQL or Oracle databases.
