Job Summary:

The Human Resources Generalist - Payroll and Benefits Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the company's leadership by providing expert payroll and benefits administration. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent judgment, and the ability to maintain an efficient and organized workflow.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Payroll Administration: Process payroll accurately and timely, working closely with the payroll vendor to optimize the platform and ensure compliance with all tax authorities.
  • Benefits Administration: Facilitate interactions with brokers on benefits, retirement, and workers' compensation, and assist employees with questions and resolve issues.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with required wage and hour laws and reporting requirements, including retirement funds, overtime, garnishments, advances, paybacks, etc.
  • HRIS and Payroll System Management: Use the payroll system effectively and efficiently, train supervisors and employees on its optimal use, and collaborate on payroll-related projects and initiatives.
  • Employee Support: Provide reports and information to assist the HR team in annual reporting for EEO1/Vets 100, ACA, non-discrimination testing for benefits plans, etc.
  • Employee Relations: Manage interactions between and among staff, escalate employee relations as needed, and demonstrate excellent communication skills to receive and convey information clearly and effectively at all levels of the organization.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Experience: 4+ years' experience in payroll processing and tax administration, with a strong working knowledge of technical HR software and developing reports.
  • Certifications: HR Certification, a plus.
